Terps for Israel acknowledges how challenging and unprecedented these times are. Amidst the complications that arise due to the Corona Virus and the political tensions that are sweeping the nation, one might question how a campus organization could continue to work as usual. The answer is that we will not continue to work as usual. However, not even a global pandemic can stop the power of college students that are passionate about Israel. It is essential, especially in times like these, that there is a platform for college students to relate to Israel. We are not only prepared but determined to launch online and socially distanced programming to engage the campus (and off-campus) community.
Israel engagement, education, and activism are key components of Terps for Israel's goals as an organization and we will ensure that these objectives are reached through our programming. Through fun community-building events, students will be able to interact with many facets of Israeli culture including food, dance, and more. Informative interactive events will be held to further educate UMD students about Israeli history and current events including Israel's response to the Corona Virus pandemic. Israel activism is always essential on college campuses which is why Terps for Israel is committed to creating political programming for students from all over the political spectrum.
Whether you are a new Terp or a returning student, Terps for Israel is a home for any student that wishes to get involved. While our home may be mostly virtual, it is still a home and community nonetheless. Online programming will not be any better or worse than in person. It will simply be different and we can't wait to show you what we have in store.
